Leopard

Leopards are closely related to the jaguar.  They are a tawny color with solid black spots.  Leopards live in Africa and Asia.  They can live 12 to 15 years in the wild and in the zoo up to 23 years old.  They like to live in a more wooded place.

Mommy and baby.  Yes a black jaguar can have a tawny color cub with black spots.

Jaguars are stockier and heavier with shorter and thinner tails.  A black Jaguar is just a normal jaguar just black on black instead of a tawny color with black spots.  They live up to 10 to 15 years out in the wild but in a zoo up to 20 years of age.

The tiger is the largest of the big cats. The tiger is native eastern and southern Asia.  They are highly adaptable and range in grasslands to mangrove forests.  Tigers can live up to  10-20 years of age.  They are territorial and a very solitary animals.

I am gonna do two pics of the animal of the day.  I have always loved snow leopards.  There grace and beauty have always captivate me.

The Snow Leopard is a large cat native to mountain rages of south Asia and central Asia.  Snow leopard love a colder climate. Snow leopards have stocky bodies with thick fur.  They also cannot roar like other big cats.

Male lion in all of his glory.  He has a very nice mane.

For today is Africa Lion. 

Females are known for feeding and being the caretakers of the pride.  Females do all of the hunting while the males are just there for protection.

This Week!

For animals of the day for this week will be big cats!  This in just a intro to what I am going to do.  I am gonna find a pic of the animal post it up and have the name and some info on it!  That is how it is gonna go.
